Family Search: Private Frederick George Spriggs was born on 4 October 1895, in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom as the son of Harriett Mary Spriggs. He immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1911. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 19, his occupation is listed as farmer. He died on 2 October 1916, in Courcelette, Somme, France, at the age of 20, and was buried in Vimy, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
