Family Search: Private John George Vansickle was born on 5 April 1882, in Petrolia, Lambton, Ontario, Canada as the son of Eugene Vansickle and Mary Vansickle. He immigrated to Port Huron, St. Clair, Michigan, United States in 1910. He died on 3 October 1916, in Vecquemont, Somme, France, at the age of 34, and was buried in Warloy-Baillon, Somme, France.
