Family Search: When Private Elmer Wardell was born on 5 November 1880, in Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario, Canada, his father, William Edward Wardell, was 17 and his mother, Ann Elizabeth Taylor, was 15. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 35, his occupation is listed as teamster. He died on 23 June 1916, in Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium, at the age of 35, and was buried in Zillebeke, Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium.
