Family Search: Private Sergun Jack Barnard was born on 31 March 1893, in Gosfield, Essex, England, United Kingdom as the son of John Barnard and Elizabeth French. He married Ethel Dyer on 5 March 1917, in Chatham, Kent, Ontario, Canada. He immigrated to Canada in 1913 and lived in Chatham, Kent, Ontario, Canada in 1917 and London, Ontario, Canada in 1922. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 22, his occupation is listed as farmer. He died in 1974, at the age of 81.
