He had at least 4 sons and 3 daughters with Gladys Mae Douglas. He lived in Windsor, Sandwich, Essex, Ontario, Canada for about 8 years and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1956. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1931, at the age of 35, his occupation is listed as tool grinder in Windsor, Sandwich, Essex, Ontario, Canada. He died on 16 October 1956, in Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 59, and was buried in Victoria Memorial Gardens, Oldcastle, Essex, Ontario, Canada.

This man was enlisted with the 168th Battalion CEF at Woodstock, Ontario on 15 January 1916.
He was a machinist and followed the Anglican faith.
He was single and listed his mother, Isabel living at 312 Main Street Woodstock, Ontario, as his next-of-kin. He had no military experience.
He arrived in England at Liverpool on 11 November 1916 on the SS Lapland.
He was struck off strength with the 168th Battalion and transferred to the 12 Reserve, and then the 4th Reserve Battalion.
He was SOS the 4th Reserve Battalion un 9 May 1917 and transferred to the 18th Battalion arriving at the No. 1 Canadian Base Depot at Harve, France on the next day and joining the 18th Battalion “in the field” on 12 June 1917.
He had 14 days leave starting on 15 January 1918 and on his returned was attached temporarily to the 4th Field Company, Canadian Engineers from 28 February 1918 to 10 March 1918.
He was appointed a Lance-Corporal on 28 August 1918 and then as Corporal on 15 December 1918.
He received another leave starting on 11 January 1919 to 5 February 1919.
He had a series of ailments which had him in hospital off and on from lates August 1916 and later in January 1917, and again in August 1917.
Returning to Canada he was demobilized on 28 May 1919 at London, Ontario.


Obituaries
P. Barnard Dies at 59
Chairman of General Motors unit of Local 195, Percy Barnard, 59, 3582 Sandwich St. W., died Tuesday at Metropolitan Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Woodstock, Ont., Mr. Barnard had spent the last 38 years in Windsor.
Mr. Barnard had served with the 18th Battalion, C.E.F., in France in 1914 to 1918. He was also a member of the 168th Battalion, in Woodstock.
A tool hardener, Mr. Barnard had been employed with General Motors for the past 33 years.
Mr. Barnard is survived by his widow, Gladys, at home; three sons, Douglas of Windsor, Allan, and Karl of The Windsor Star composing room staff; three daughters, Mrs. Parky Gene (Gladys) of Riverside, Mrs. Gaith Black, Mrs. C. Gamble (Gloria), both of Sandwich East; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Williacy, Mrs. Mabel Sales, both of Woodstock; two brothers, Harry of London, Eng., Jack of Woodstock; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 895 Ouellette Ave., with Mrs. Janet Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Victoria Memorial Park.
The family will receive visitors 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
