Family Search: Private Roy Berton Bruce was born on 4 October 1895, in Hespeler, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada as the son of Roy Bruce and Fanny Bruce. He lived in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 1911 and Wellington, Ontario, Canada in 1911. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 21, his occupation is listed as tree sawyer.
Note that his attestation papers misspelled his middle name as Burton. It is Berton.
