Family Search: When Private Alfred James Metcalfe Calhoun was born on 8 March 1884, in Shelburne, Dufferin, Ontario, Canada, his father, Alfred James Calhoun, was 30 and his mother, Christina Silk, was 21. He married Beatrice Alice Cavell in 1910, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 1 daughter. He immigrated to Sweet Grass, Montana, United States in 1938 and lived in Macdonald Rural Municipality, Manitoba, Canada in 1901 and Calgary, Alberta, Canada for about 11 years. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 31, his occupation is listed as clerk. He died on 19 February 1939, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, at the age of 54, and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge County, Alberta, Canada.
