Family Search: When Private Arthur Edward Copley was born on 21 August 1893, in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, United Kingdom, his father, Thomas Edward Copley, was 42 and his mother, Sarah Ann Rhodes, was 42. He had at least 1 son with Edith. He immigrated to Quebec, Canada in 1921 and lived in Gorton, Manchester, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom in 1901 and Yarmouth, Elgin, Canada West, British North America in 1931. In 1931, at the age of 38, his occupation is listed as cleaner. He died on 27 November 1950, in England, United Kingdom, at the age of 57.
Was one of the soldiers that hopped on board the British destroyer that collided with their transport ship when Battalion embarked for France.

TWO SONS IN ARMY
Born in England and Here Only 16 Months—Six Soldiers to be Pall Bearers
The death took place Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the family residence, 107 Flora street, of Mrs. Sarah A. Copley, wife of Thomas E. Copley, after an illness of seven days of pneumonia, aged 65 years. Mrs. Copley was born at Rickmansworth, near London, Eng., and came to Canada 16 months ago with her family.
She is survived by her husband and three sons: George Herbert, of the Wabash Railway, city; Arthur Edward, of the 18th Battalion, Belgium; William John, of the 3rd Battalion, Quebec; and one brother, Richard Rhodes, London, Eng.
Mrs. Copley was a member of St. Johns Church.
The funeral will take place Wednesday from the family residence at one o’clock, thence to St. Johns church for memorial service at 1:30. The funeral will be private. Lieut.-Col. Green, of the 91st, has consented to furnish six intimate friends of the family as pall bearers from that battalion.
