He immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1919 and lived in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States in 1917 and Chicago, Cook, Illinois, United States in 1922. He registered for military service in 1917. In 1917, at the age of 25, his occupation is listed as machinist in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States.
Appears that attestation reversed the fore and middle names and this was never corrected.
