Family Search: When Private Andrew Germain was born on 28 April 1889, in Eganville, Grattan Township, Renfrew, Ontario, Canada, his father, Andrew Germain, was 42 and his mother, Felicite Gauthier, was 34. He lived in Nipissing, Ontario, Canada in 1901 and London, Ontario, Canada for about 3 years. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1923, at the age of 34, his occupation is listed as machinist in London, Ontario, Canada

This man appears to have been born in the Ottawa Valley. He has a birth record of Ottawa, Ontario in his attestation papers and later in his service file he specifies Eganville, Ontario.
He lived in London, Ontario for a time after the war and appears to have returned to Massey and Walford, Ontario later. His family was residing in Massey at the time of his enlistment.
