This man enlisted with the 18th Battalion at Galt, Ontario, on 23 October 1914.

At the time of attestation, he was an iron moulder following the Anglican faith.

He arrived in Avonmouth, England, on 29 April 1915 aboard the SS Grampian.

He trained in England until 15 September 1915, when the entire 2nd Contingent went “overseas” to the Continent and then to Belgium.

He had a series of promotions, the first being to Corporal on 15 September 1916 and then to Sergeant on2 September 1917.

He earned a Military Medal and was married at Bath on 11 February 1919.

He returned to Canada aboard the HMT Royal George and was discharged due to demobilization on 27 March 1919 at London, Ontario.

He returned to Galt and was recorded as living there in 1921.
