Family Search: Private Walter Haigh was born on 20 February 1878, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. He immigrated to Canada in 1913. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 37, his occupation is listed as electrician. He died in 1943, at the age of 65.
This news clipping is in error, as is the listing below of this man being “seriously wounded.” This man suffered from appendicitis in July 1915 and never rejoined the battalion. He served in England only with other units.
