He married Lilian Smith on 28 October 1919, in London, Ontario, Canada. He immigrated to Canada in 1910 and lived in Camlachie, Plympton-Wyoming, Lambton, Ontario, Canada in 1919 and London, Ontario, Canada in 1922. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 21, his occupation is listed as farmer in Forest, Lambton Shores, Lambton, Ontario, Canada. He died in 1981, at the age of 86, and was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London, Ontario, Canada.
