Family Search: When John Carlyle Heaman was born on 4 February 1885, in Glencoe, Southwest Middlesex, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada, his father, Robert Heaman, was 26 and his mother, Margaret Mcintyre, was 19. He married Emily Elizabeth Smithers on 30 May 1922, in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He registered for military service in 1915. He died on 9 August 1958, in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 73, and was buried in York Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
This soldier joined the 70th Battalion at London, Ontario on November 20, 1915. Going overseas he was transferred to the 18th Battalion and arrived for active service on September 28, 1916. He served with the Battalion until April 9, 1917, having been wounded. He was discharged at London, Ontario on March 29, 1919. He died at Sunnybrook Hospital on August 9, 1958.
