He had at least 1 son with Carolyn L. Charteris. He immigrated to Ellis Island, New York City, New York, United States in 1920 and lived in North Oxford Township, Oxford, Ontario, Canada in 1911 and Hamilton, Hamilton-Wentworth, Ontario, Canada in 1931. He died on 12 December 1967, at the age of 73, and was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

This man was enlisted with the 168th Battalion at Woodstock, Ontario on 14 February 1916.
He was a bank clerk following the Anglican faith.
He arrived in England on 11 November aboard the SS Lapland.
In England, he was transferred to the 12th Battalion on 5 December 1916 and then to the 4th Canadian Reserve Battalion on 4 April 1917. In this unit he was appointed as an Acting Corporal and was reverted to the rank of private on 24 August 1917 as he had proceeded to the Continent as he was transferred to the 18th Battalion the day before.
He was transferred to the 18th Battalion and arrived “in the field” on 5 May 1917.
He received 14 days leave on 1 March 1918 to the United Kingdom.
He had some medical issues which took him out of the front line from 23 August 1918 to 15 November 1918.
He received another 14 days leave effective 27 January 1919.
He returned to the 18th Battalion and was demobilized at London, Ontario on 24 May 1919.
