Family Search: When Private Charles Clifford Keller was born on 2 June 1897, in Maryborough Township, Wellington, Ontario, Canada, his father, Jacob S. Keller, was 40 and his mother, Sarah Jane Blough, was 37. He lived in Perth, Ontario, Canada in 1911 and Stratford, Perth, Ontario, Canada for about 13 years. He registered for military service in 1918. In 1931, at the age of 34, his occupation is listed as carpenter. He died in December 1980, at the age of 83, and was buried in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford, Perth, Ontario, Canada.

Charles Keller joined the CEF under the 1917 MSA on 4 January 1918 at London, Ontario and was assigned the reg. no. of 3130486. He arrived in England on 16 February 1918 aboard the SS Grampian and by 3 June 1918 he was transferred to the 18th Battalion for active combat duty. He arrived “in the field” with the 18th Battalion on 14 August 1918 and was wounded on the 27th. He suffered a GSW to his left foot and was sent to England for treatment.

He returned to the 18th Battalion on 9 November 1918 and served the remainder of his service with the 18th Battalion until discharged from service due to demobilization. He was demobilized on 24 May 1919 at London, Ontario.
