Family Search: Private Albert Atcheson Kerr was born on 21 December 1892, in Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario, Canada as the son of Albert Atchison Kerr and Lilian Laverner. He married Elsie May Lomas on 16 April 1921, in York, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Swansea, Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1922 and Etobicoke, York, Ontario, Canada in 1931. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1950, his occupation is listed as goodyear tire and rubber company in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He died on 7 October 1959, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 66, and was buried in Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

This man was enlisted with the 39th Battalion at Toronto, Ontario on 3 August 1915.

He was an chauffer following the Anglican faith.

He arrived in England on 5 October 1915 and began his training at Shorncliffe.

On 26 March 1916 he was transferred to the 18th Battalion and began his journey overseas to join this battalion arriving “in the field” on 7 April 1916.

He was admitted to No. 5 Canadian Field Ambulance on 28 December 1916 for mylgia and was discharged for duty on 6 January 1917.

The next day he was attached for duty with No. 4 Canadian Trench Mortar Battery and during hs served he contracted tonsilitis and was sent for treatment at No. 4 Canadian Field Ambulance and No. 6 Casualty Clearing Station. He returned to duty on 31 May 1917 after twelve days of illness.

A 10 day leave to England was granted to him effective on 19 August 1917 with him returning on 3 September 1917.

He was transferred to the 4th Canadian Trench Mortar Battery and struck off strength with the 18th Battalion on 2 October 1917.

He was returned to the 18th Battalion on 14 November 1918 and served the rest of the war with this battalion, being discharged at London, Ontario on 24 May 1919.
