Family Search: When Private William Laplante was born on 9 June 1889, in Tilbury, Kent, Ontario, Canada, his father, Louis Remi Laplant, was 30 and his mother, Mary, was 25. He married Ada Lillian Clark on 26 March 1921, in Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada. He lived in Windsor, Sandwich, Essex, Ontario, Canada for about 13 years. He registered for military service in 1918. In 1958, at the age of 69, his occupation is listed as truscan steel plant in Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada. He died on 15 February 1962, in Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 72, and was buried in Victoria Memorial Gardens, Oldcastle, Essex, Ontario, Canada.

He reported for military service under the MSA (1917) at London, Ontario on 4 January 1918.

He was a clerk living at Windsor, Ontario and was of the Roman Catholic faith.

He arrived in England on 4 March 1918 aboard the SS Cretic and was transferred to the 4th Canadian Reserve Battalion the next day at Bramshott Camp. He was transferred for active combat duty on 10 May 1918 and arrived “in the field” on 7 September 1918.

Private Johnson served the rest of the war with the 18th Battalion and was demobilized at London, Ontario on 24 May 1919.
