He immigrated to Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States in 1924 and lived in Kent, Ontario, Canada for about 10 years and Blenheim, Kent, Ontario, Canada in 1916. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 20, his occupation is listed as labourer in Blenheim, Kent, Ontario, Canada. He died in 1949, at the age of 53, and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada.
