He immigrated to Canada in 1913 and lived in St Pancras, London, England, United Kingdom for about 10 years. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 48, his occupation is listed as tailor in Cedar Dale, Oshawa, Ontario, Ontario, Canada. He died on 10 March 1925, in Oshawa, Ontario, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 56, and was buried in Union Cemetery, Oshawa, Durham, Ontario, Canada.
Note that this soldier enlisted twice. The first enlistment under reg. no. 141972 he gave his date of birth as 1872. He enlisted later under reg. no. 868042 and give is date of birth as 1875 to become eligible to serve as he was over-age.
