Family Search: When Corporal Carl Hollis Mitchell was born on 27 March 1897, in Gorrie, Huron, Ontario, Canada, his father, Edward Albert Mitchell, was 28 and his mother, Minnie May Reid Mitchell, was 23. He married Gladys Julia Brown on 3 February 1922, in Blytheswood, Leamington, Essex, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He immigrated to United States in 1900 and lived in Ontario, Canada in 1922 and Sandwich East Township, Essex, Ontario, Canada in 1931. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1916, at the age of 19, his occupation is listed as carpenter. He died on 14 December 1967, in Sault Ste. Marie, Algoma, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 70, and was buried in Goulais River, Algoma Unorganized North Part, Algoma, Ontario, Canada.
