He arrived in England on 7 April 1917 and was transferred for active combat duty on 28 February 1918 and arrived “in the field” on 10 August 1918 after being assigned to the 2nd Canadian Machine Gun Brigade temporarily.
He served the rest of the war with the 18th and was discharged due to demobilization on 24 May 1919 at London, Ontario.

George A. Parker
George A. Parker, 66, of 100 Margaret Ave., died Monday at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Parker, he was born March 20, 1895, in England, and lived in Kitchener the past 36 years. A mail man in Kitchener for 28 years, he was employed by the Kitchener Parking Authority for the past three years. He was a member of Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church. A veteran of the First World War, he was a member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Association.
He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Van Audenarde, whom he married Jan. 24, 1929, in Kitchener; one son, Raymond of Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Marion) Moogk, of Waterloo; one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Stephen of Dreux, France; three grandchildren.
The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. by Rev. F. M. Faist. Burial will be in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery.
