Assigned to the 4th Reserve Battalion on24 February 1918 with the expectation of serving overseas he was transferred to the 18th Battalion on 28 March 1918 and proceeded to the Continent for active combat service.
He arrived “in the field” on 11 June 1918 and was granted 14-days leave after the war ended starting on 7 March 1919.
He rejoined the 18th Battalion and boarded the SS Caronia 15 May 1919 and was demobilization on 24 May 1919 at London, Ontario.
