Family Search: When Lance-Corporal Milton Joseph Reaume was born on 9 April 1899, in Dover, Kent, Ontario, Canada, his father, Francis Frank Reaume, was 35 and his mother, Emma Duphette Duffette, was 25. He married Irene Marguerite Antaya on 27 August 1923, in Tilbury East, Kent, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He immigrated to Vermont, United States in 1924 and lived in Pain Court, Kent, Ontario, Canada in 1916 and Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States in 1930. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 17, his occupation is listed as farmer in Pain Court, Kent, Ontario, Canada. He died on 4 January 1950, at the age of 50, and was buried in Saint Peter’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Tilbury, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada.

This man enlisted with the 186th Battalion at Chatham, Ontario on 8 April 1916.

He was a farmer following the Roman Catholic faith and lived in Pain Court, Ontario at his enlistment.

He arrived in England on 7 April 1917 aboard the SS Lapland. He was transferred to the 4th Canadian Reserve Battalion on the day of debarkation and then assigned to the “Boy’s Battalion” on3 August 1917 as he was underage. On 11 April 1918, he was awarded a Good Conduct Badge.

On 18 August 1918, he was transferred to the 18th Battalion and joined that unit “in the field” on 23 August 1918.

He was appointed a Lance Corporal on 15 January 1919 while serving in Germany.

He served the rest of the war with the 18th and was discharged due to demobilization on 24 May 1919 at London, Ontario.
