He married Edith Wixson on 6 March 1920, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He immigrated to Quebec, Quebec, Canada in 1904 and lived in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada in 1931. He died in 1975, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 82, and was buried in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
His son, Flying Officer Arthur Joseph was killed in action during World War 2.
