He was wounded on 27 August 1918 with a GSW to the left hand and to the right index finger and was sent for treatment at the 22 General Hospital on the Continent and was returned to service 14 October 1918 after being assigned to the Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp on 26 September 1918.

He served the rest of the war with the 18th Battalion with a stint of occupation duty in Germany after the war ended.

He was discharged due to demobilization on 28 March 1919 at London, Ontario.
