This man enlisted with the91st Battalion on 2 November 1915 at Chatham, Ontario. He was transferred to the 186th Battalion being formed in Chatham on 28 February 1916.

He was a Farmer following the Methodist faith.

He arrived in England on 7 April 1917 aboard the SS Lapland.

He went overseas to join the 18th Battalion on 5 September 1917 and arrived “in the field” on 120 November 1917.

He was granted a 14 days leave to the United Kingdom on 28 October 1918 and returned from that leave on 15 November 1918.

He contracted influenza that required treatment at No. 6 and No. 4 Canadian Field Ambulance from 6 March 1919 to 15 March 1919.

He served the rest of the war with the 18th Battalion with a stint of occupation duty in Germany after the war ended.

He was discharged due to demobilization on 24 May 1919 at London, Ontario.
