He died on 23 July 1968, in Muskegon, Muskegon, Michigan, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Sullivan Township Cemetery, Ravenna, Muskegon, Michigan, United States.

This man enlisted with the 1st Depot Battalion Wester Ontario Regiment on 13 November 1917 at London, Ontario. He previously had attempted to enlist in the US Navy but appears to have been rejected and decided to come to Canada to enlist.
He was a Storekeeper and indicated his religious affiliation as Anglican.
He arrived in England on 31 December 1917 aboard the SS Grampian.
Assigned to the 4th Reserve Battalion on 31 December 1917 at Bramshott Camp. He was transferred to the 18th Battalion on7 April 1918 and proceeded to the Continent for active combat service.
He arrived “in the field” on 7 May 1918.
He suffered from the effects of influenza one month later requiring treatment at No. 5 Canadian Field Ambulance from June 7 to 19, 1918.
A month after that he suffered an Inflammation of Connective Tissue and was not returned to the 18th Battalion until 23 October 1918.
He was sent on a Special Fitter Course on 9 December 1918 and arrived back from that course on 28 January 1919.
He was able to get a 14 days leave to the United Kingdom starting on 7 March 1919.
He served the rest of the war with the 18th Battalion.
He was discharged due to demobilization on 28 March 1919 at London, Ontario.
