He lived in Staffa, West Perth, Perth, Ontario, Canada in 1919 and Blytheswood, Leamington, Essex, Ontario, Canada in 1922. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 20, his occupation is listed as farmer in Wheatley, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada. He died on 9 January 1926, in London, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 29, and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Wheatley, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada.MORE
Roland Lewis Tuffin Father was John Tuffin born 1862 and Mother was Elizabeth Jane Reid Tufin(1856-1937) who in 1911 were living together in Mersea Township, Essex County, Ontario and Roland and brother George were Farmers.Roland enlisted on 15 March 1916 into the 186th (Kent) Battalion in Wheatley Ontario. The 186th sailed for England on 28 March 1917 where it was absorbed into the 4th Reserve Battalion on 7 April 1917. Pte Roland Tuffin was soon transferred to the 18th (Western Ontario ) Battalion which was part on the 4th Infantry Brigade , 2nd Canadian Division. Pte R L Tuffin was with the 18th Battalion in France and Flanders where he suffered from Gas Attacks.Corporal Tuffin was discharged on 21 March 1919 in London Ontario.Roland Lewis soon relocated to RR1 Blytherwood Essex County where he died on 21 Feb 1922 (actually 09 January 1926). Roland Tuffin is buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Wheatley Chatham-Kent near his Mother Elizabeth Jane Reid Tuffin who died later on 23 Feb 1937.
