Family Search: When Private William John Westlake was born on 7 May 1893, in Turnberry Township, Huron, Ontario, Canada, his father, William Alfred Westlake, was 48 and his mother, Elizabeth Candler, was 30. He had at least 2 sons with Emma Grace Wade. He lived in Huron, Ontario, Canada in 1901. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 23, his occupation is listed as farmer. He died in 1980, at the age of 87, and was buried in Colborne Cemetery, Colborne Township, Huron, Ontario, Canada.
