He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 36, his occupation is listed as farmer in Blenheim Township, Oxford, Ontario, Canada. He died on 29 August 1941, in Chatham, Kent, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 61, and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada.
