He married Gertrude Jean Fairbairn on 20 May 1920, in Chesterville, North Dundas, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 2 daughters. He lived in Ontario, Canada for about 10 years. He registered for military service in 1914. He died on 4 January 1985, in Central Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada, at the age of 88.
