He married Sarah Gladys Elliot before 1934. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He lived in Ontario, Canada in 1885. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1940, his occupation is listed as postmaster in Cayuga, Haldimand, Ontario, Canada. He died on 4 January 1940, in Buffalo, Erie, New York, United States, at the age of 54.

– Law Society of Ontario Picture also indicates he served in the 54th Battalion.
