Transferred to the Royal Flying Corps.

This man enlisted with the 18th Battalion, CEF on 25 February 1915 at London, Ontario. He went overseas to England with the 18th and served in Belgium from 15 September to 6 October 1915 having suffered a GSW to his left shoulder. He had been wounded slightly on the 3rd but was put out of action with the second wound.

He was sent to England for treatment of his wounds and on 18 June 1917 was transferred to the Imperial Forces with a commission for service with the Royal Flying Corps.

He was discharged from Imperial service and is recorded to have returned to Canada living at 156 Wellington Street, Stratford, Ontario in 1922 according to his medal card.

He died at the Stratford General Hospital of encephalitis, basil meningitis, and septicemia further complicated by cardiac issues. At the time of his death, he was an Assistant Foreman for the Canadian National Railway in Stratford.
