I started this blog in part because of my daughter. She was doing a Remembrance Day speech with a school mate and I helped them with some of the research about her Great-Grandfather. She did a wonderful job and I was (and still am) proud of her. But after an initial flurry of activity on this blog I let it lapse.
Bad excuses I know: Wordpress’ wonderfully secure password authentication system was a bit too aggressive for my sometime pea sized brain and I gave up trying to create a new password every time I wanted to log in and post and other things got in the way of this.
But then someone posted a comment several days ago and I realized that I was really dropping the 8-ball so I reconnected to the blog (and wrote down the password) and checked the comments and several people reached out to me and I DID NOTHING. So, first things first…
I will take the time to post the information in the comments so others can help and as I work through adding more pages to the blog I will do my best to look out to the names in the comments to assist others in discovering this important story.

I have some copies of photographs of the 18th Battalion. They were taken at the Chatham Armories (Ontario). If the author of the site contacts me at : dloyer@cogeco.ca I would like to forward them so they can be added to this wonderful site.
