Family Search: When Corporal John Robert McCombe was born on 4 February 1879, in Clogher, County Tyrone, Ireland, his father, Robert McComb, was 49 and his mother, Jane Margaret Cooke, was 35. He immigrated to Canada in 1903 and lived in London, Ontario, Canada in 1914. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 35, his occupation is listed as clerk, scandrett brothers store in London, Ontario, Canada. He died on 15 September 1916, in Courcelette, Somme, Picardie, France, at the age of 37, and was buried in Vimy, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
